UniBE offers a centrally located workplace with easy-to-reach sites. The residency position provides daily supervision and collaboration with two neurologists, supported by European and American specialist clinicians in various disciplines. The hospital features advanced facilities, including 3-Tesla MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, electrophysiology, and neurosurgery equipment for computer-assisted brain and spine surgery, video-endoscopy, microsurgery, and minimally invasive surgery. On-site physiotherapy is also available for patients.

Tasks

  • Work under supervision with daily patient care, consultations, diagnostic procedures, and neurosurgeries.
  • Participate in weekly neurology journal and book clubs, as well as radiology and neuropathology rounds.
  • Teach students and interns clinically.
  • Participate in emergency "out-of-hours" duty coverage.
  • Complete 4-5 months of ECVN credential requirements, including clinical rotations in related specialties and a residency research project.
  • Participate in international congresses.

Requirements

  • Hold a veterinary degree.
  • Have at least two years of general practice experience and/or have completed a rotating or specialty internship.
  • Be proficient in English, in German and French (basic knowledge of the third language is required, with a commitment to further improve).
  • Ideally, have some exposure to neurology.
  • Be ready to join emergency duty coverage, teaching, and academic activities.
