Tasks
- Design, build, maintain, and evolve the sync SDK powering Proton Drive's desktop applications.
- Build application internals, including managing and syncing local and remote state and performing cryptographic operations.
- Help build resilient, scalable applications with graceful degradation and log/metrics streams free of personally identifiable information.
- Be involved in the entire application lifecycle, with a strong focus on internals shared among desktop applications, including Gitlab configuration, deployments, monitoring, alerting, and operational incident response.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to drive necessary changes and new features for the core desktop experience.
- Be part of a small team bringing a privacy by default solution to Drive clients on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Develop applications for a wide range of users, ensuring online privacy and simplifying end-to-end encryption.
- Invest in test automation to improve team productivity and software delivery cadence.
- Divide problems into iterations of simpler, composable solutions and re-evaluate minimum scope as necessary to meet objectives on time.
- Insist on high standards for application monitoring and alerting to ensure a smooth customer experience at all times.
Requirements
- Strong experience in .NET development.
- Strong experience with concurrent multi-threaded programming.
- Optional experience building and maintaining desktop applications.
- Working knowledge of file systems.
- Working knowledge of Git.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in a relevant field of study.
- Experience with owning and maintaining large software components.
- Experience with gradual rollouts and metrics/monitoring/alerting frameworks.
