We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on the interiors and long-term evolution of sub-Neptunes within the Exoplanet Interiors and Atmospheres group led by Prof. Caroline Dorn. The position is part of the NCCR Genesis, the National Centre of Competence in Research on the emergence of life in the Universe, providing access to a Switzerland-wide, interdisciplinary network spanning planetary physics, geochemistry, chemistry, and biology. The position is for two years, with the possibility of extension to a third year subject to NCCR Genesis procedures.
Recent research has challenged the traditional layered model of sub-Neptune interiors, raising questions about miscibility, demixing, chemistry-driven convection, volatile exchange between magma oceans and envelopes, and their impact on observable atmospheres. Applicants are encouraged to propose their own research ideas within this scope.
